Indications & Dosage

Indications:

Pyrexia of unknown origin. For the relief of fever and pain associated with common childhood disorders, tonsillitis, upper respiratory tract infection, post-immunization reactions, post operative fever, after tonsillectomy and other conditions, where patient is unable to take oral medications but where Paracetamol can be administered with advantage for prevention of febrile convulsion, headache, cold, sinusitis, muscle pain, arthritis and toothaches.

Dosage and Administration
Recommended dose: 10mg/kg body weight/dose, to be given by slow intravenous IV push or by deep intramuscular IM injection, every 4 to 6 hours while symptoms persist, or approximately as follows:
Children:
Below 6 months: 0.25 to 0.5mL
6 to 12 months: 0.5 to 0.75mL
1 to 2 years: 0.75 to 1mL
3 to 6 years: 1 to 1.25mL
7 to 12 years: 1.25 to 2mL
Adults: 2 to 4mL
